Weather forecasts are getting more and more accurate with the developments on modern satellite technology and all, you know. But if it just isn't good news, people tend to shrug their shoulders and carry on with their lives. They don't think an accurate weather forecast would prevent any unseen damages to both their lives and their land! For instance, the worst damn drought in the history of Spain is seen to come this year. With this information, people could easily prepare to move their asses to other countries or conserve their damn water reserves!

Spain's water reserves are down. This is why a long drought has been forecasted this year as well as the following years to come. While some countries have these inconsistent rains and floods, other parts of the world have depleted water reserves! Where's the damn water cycle our elementary teachers have taught us about?! I believe global warming is indeed fucking up the weather on all the areas of this planet. It's a good thing we have satellite technology and the internet, for these could easily provide us with necessary information to save lives and land, you know.

No, this has nothing to do with the damn population boom we have had for the past ten years or so! I think weather does have substantial effects on population growth, but that would be diving into the unknown abyss of human sexual preference! After all, in the time wherein gay, or lesbian, if you may, marriages are now legal, who would think population growth would be a damn possibility, let alone a problem of sorts! But nevertheless, global warming, caused by that damn ozone depletion thing, is still an ever-imposing problem of the world, and the latest updates on the weather we had been experiencing for the past few years, or approximately a decade, don't even calm my damn nerves!
I think we should all be informed of every bit of change our weather seems to take every once in a while. Thus, I urge you to buy yourselves a high-tech handheld gizmo wherein to monitor the extreme weather changes the whole world is experiencing. I don't think it would save you from a flash flood or something, but I think it would provide you with enough time to either prepare yourselves and be saved, or prepare yourselves to die! This is because, due to global warming, the world seems to have gone absolutely haywire! We have tsunamis engulfing towns, earthquakes damaging cities, and even flash floods submerging whole provinces! If the wrath of God has something to do with these disasters, then I think we should all kneel down before the sun or something!

The tropical storm that last hit North Carolina had spurn its way out of state or turf. Inhabitants near the Tar River need not worry about danger for officials claim that the river will not overflow even with scattered rains. Light rain will hit the Northwest while the West will expect the system to hung over some of its areas such as the Great Basin and Rockies.
Meanwhile, the news also say that current move of thunderstorms extend from the northern Plains to Minessota. Southern Rockies pushing to the central Plains will also experience thunderstorms. Temperatures will reach 90s and 100s in the Gulf Coast, Southwest and the Plains. However, the Northeast's temp will not surpass the 70s.
Although its hard to predict weather, good thing that we could take precautions and guides. Upon hearing the news, my family has taken deep breaths exhaling out their anxieties... Nowadays, we can never be too sure. We don't know how disaster strikes.
At least I would know what to expect. Sometimes, we don't take weather news stories seriously but only now do I care much more when it concerns my family and my community! It makes me realize how much life is like weather, unpredictable, you'll never know what comes next. Weather and natures have their tricks too, you know!

With the high-tech communication gadgets we have today, different software programs are always vying for consumer attention. Weather software packages are not an exception in this case. Since people can now receive the latest news and weather updates straight from their mobile phones, it is necessary for them to use a particular service. One mobile service that I have now is Worldmate.
Worldmate can be downloaded to your phone and you can optimize its features especially if you have a Windows-based smartphone. I really find this software useful especially when I'm traveling to a faraway place, like exotic European locations, for instance. Since my traveling activities rely on the condition of the weather a lot, I make sure to check on the weather every now and then on Worldmate. I refer to the infrared maps so I can view the satellite shots of different countries where I am traveling. I am not disappointed, so far, because aside from the weather, Worldmate also lets me adjust time according to the place's time zone and at the same time, currency for my online shopping needs. One of the things I do not like in using other software is that I have to interrupt my supposed activity for the moment, but with Worldmate software, I can continue talking or messaging to my colleagues and friends abroad.

In watching all those weather reports I assume you have already heard the anchorman uttering the term "category 1..2..." or whatever category the hurricane is. But do you really understand what it means or have an idea how they categorize such weather disturbance? Or do you just base in on 5 being the strongest and 1 being the weakest? Partly you're right, but there's more explanation than that.
There are five categories followed in the present hurricane scale. They use it to measure a hurricane's intensity to give an estimate of the potential property damage and flooding expected along the coast from a hurricane landfall. Wind speed is the main determining factor in the scale, as storm surge values are highly dependent on the slope of the continental shelf in the landfall region.
A Catergory 1 hurricane has strong winds ranging 74-95 mph (64-82 kt or 119-153 km/hr). Minimal damage is expected from such hurricane. Category 2 has winds of 96-110 mph (83-95 kt or 154-177 km/hr). Moderate damage to trees, mobile homes, poorly constructed signs, and piers are expected. Category 3 indicates extensive winds of 111-130 mph (96-113 kt or 178-209 km/hr) and anticipates some structural damage to small residences and utility buildings with a minor amount of curtainwall failures. Category 4 storm has strong winds of 131-155 mph (114-135 kt or 210-249 km/hr). There's usually complete destruction of mobile homes and extensive damage to doors and windows. Massive evacuation is conducted to residents of terrain lower than 10 feet above sea level due to flooding. Finally, a catastrophic Category 5 hurricane has winds greater than 155 mph (135 kt or 249 km/hr) causes complete roof failure on many residences and industrial buildings and a massive evacuation of residential areas on low ground within 5-10 miles (8-16 km) of the shoreline may be required.

It is undeniable that weather disasters cause trauma to the people involved. It is plain common sense that upon experiencing the catastrophe, there is a large negative effect on the lives of the affected. Just why am I concerned about this? I have just observed that people, the youth especially, find it hard to cope and move on with their lives after the storm has gone. I have also learned of this cases in each disastrous calamity in the American history.
I happen to read an article concerning the disaster coordinating council of British Columbian Canada and its effort in helping teenagers survive the pain of having been entailed in a disaster like tornado. According to the article, young people who nearly lost their loved ones or are orphaned by calamities are apt to feel helpless and hopeless. Depending on the gravity of the damage inflicted on the youth, they may suddenly switch to behaviors that are triggered by the unbearable pain or indiscribable fear. This is understandable since while all else are hapilly seated on their homes, these young people are battling to save, if not keep, their families.
Although experts say that disaster traumas are temporary, the case is not so for all the participating youth. There are instances when some would committ suicide, or decide to waste away their lives because there is no one to live for. Some become uncommunicative, while others become utterly independent. There is also great danger in keeping the fear that develops into phobia that results in panicking behavior when triggered by similar calamities. These are just some of the reasons why psychologists volunteer to provide counselling after a tremendous weather catastrophe has occured.

Most people see their wedding as the most important day in their lives. This is the time when they declare their undying love to their partners. For this reason, they would do anything to make it a very special and memorable day. One way they can make it really special is when they arrange an outdoor wedding. However, this usually gets ruined when it rains during that day.
Do not let this stop you from having your dream wedding outside. You will have that if you know when in a year is the hottest and driest period. This is the point wherein it seldom or does not rain on earth. It can be because the sun is very hot and absorbs all the water and moisture. Usually, this happens during the days of August 1 or 4, July 30, and July 22. For the past 110 years, rain only happened nine times during those days. If ever you are choosing a wedding date, pick any of those dates so you can have the outdoor wedding without any rain. This is also the ideal time to have your memorable honeymoon vacation so you can go swimming on a tropical island.
Try to avoid getting married on November 19 because scientists said that this is the rainiest day of a year. For the past 110 years, it rained a total of 83 times on the said date. So, if you are not planning to get soaked to the bone on your most special day, this is a date to avoid. You must remember that the driest and hottest period on earth is on the third and fourth week of July and the initial days in the month of August.

You wake up early in the morning to the cold and heavy rains outside your home. You ponder on whether you still want to finish today's assignment and meet the deadline or stay at home and not risk getting all wet and muddy from the morning's commute to the office. Eventually, you decide to go ahead against the wind and the rain, but rushing halfway to work, you forgot to check on the weather report on TV and are having second thoughts on ever getting to your destination.
It is a good thing that in these technologically advanced times, you don't have to worry about that scenario anymore. Cellular network providers have teamed up with local weather news stations and agencies to deliver the weather report straight to your mobile phone. Thus, storm alerts and advisories are just a click away; you don't even have to be in front of the computer to surf the news sites. The weather report content is available through WAP and GPRS services arranged by your network and since these are value-added services, they may not cost you money. But, that's a little sacrifice to ensure your health and safety, right?

The daily weather report updates we hear on the news are results of scientific studies conducted by the expert meteorologists in the field. Weather reports contain not only news on destructive weather phenomena such as typhoons but also contain daily updates on weather conditions in specific localities.
The usual weather reports may include temperature range, humidity, cloud formation, rainfall, wind speed, atmospheric pressure, tides, and sunrise and sunset. Some weather reports may also include weather trivia such as how hail stones are formed. Weather reports are useful in sea and air navigation. Ports and airfields may be warned through weather reports in order to prevent disasters.

Weather reports do not only cover extreme cases of weather such as typhoons or tornadoes, weather reports also cover general and day-to-day changes in weather patterns. When we read or listen to a weather report the usual updates that are reported are on temperature, humidity, rainfall, tides, sunrise and sunset, visibility and wind gustiness. All of these daily weather reports may be uninteresting for most people but there are sectors of society as well as profession that depend on these weather reports. Sailors and pilots are some of the professionals that need daily updates about the weather especially during storms.

As the name implies, a weather report is a statement about the current weather. Most weather report are consists of the report of the day's temperature, humidity, wind speed, wind direction, barometric pressure, presence of clouds, and the rise/fall of the ocean's surface called tide.
Usually, weather reports can be availed, seen or read on newspaper, radio, television or online. The weather information reported through these mediums come from weather stations and organization that are monitoring the planet's climate condition. Aside from the the traditional use of barometer, computer, and other manual devices, weather agencies are now using weather satellites and radars to detect weather conditions.
